Little known fact?
In 1978 .
Playing for the Ontario hockey leagues London knights?
He scored 72 goals and 70 assists .
Second in points behind Gretzky that year.
And first in goals.
As Gretzky ended up with 70 that season.
And at the end of that season?
In the 3rd last game of the season?
In a game between London and the sault?
The London arena held a competition between the hounds Gretzky and
ciccarelli during the second period intermission..
Little known fact is this.
Dino soundly defeated Wayne in every one on one hockey competition they had during that special event .
I’ve always wondered how Wayne felt about being soundly beaten by Dino in that head on one on one hockey talent competition he engaged in with Dino that year.

Anyhow, disaster soon followed Dino though.
After that.
As during a practise before a play off game with Ottawa that year?

Dino broke his leg severely in three places.
Doctors told Dino the breaks were too severe.
And he’d never play hockey ever again.
It’s a testament to Dino’s courage and determination that he came back from such a horrific injury to “‘ not only play in the nhl.”” But also play so spectacularly in the highest pro hockey league in the world after such an injury.
Professional
Doctors told Dino he’d never play again?
And look what he did.
Dino scored 602 goals and 570 assists in the nhl.
After a variety of professional medical doctors told Dino his career in hockey was over.
Throughout his career Ciccarelli played over 1,200 games and finished with 608 goals and 1,200 points. Ciccarelli's number 8 was also retired by his junior team, the London Knights. Dino also owns a nightclub called "Club 22" in Shelby Township, Michigan where he now resides
Through his NHL career, Dino played 1,232 regular season games, finishing with 608
Imagine what Dino would have done in the nhl if he hadn’t broken his leg so severely.
On that note.

Now that’s a thought for the ages
